The weather is warming up and spring events are starting to begin in Des Moines, Iowa. Historic Skills Classes
Living History Farms in Urbandale is offering a variety of weekend cooking and skills classes in March and April. Cooking classes include making Victorian side dishes and open-hearth cooking. Iowa Quilt Museum
If you’re feeling like taking a road trip, then head south to the Iowa Quilt Museum in Winterset. Their latest exhibit is Deeds Not Words: Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage, which will be on display through April 10. Once a month you can check out the Iowa State Fairgrounds Flea Market. It offers a variety of antiques, collectibles, home décor, jewelry, purses, bags and more. Admission is free. Des Moines Community Playhouse
